About Ghost Town Council
Ghost Town Council was a foundation born in the aftermath of the Superior Elevator Fire of 1907. The beast slumbered for 99 years then awoke peacefully -- yet eager to join the burgeoning Madison Cosmic Country music scene. It was a simpler time then; gas was only $3.75 a gallon, we knew the enemy but didn't know yet where to find him, and peace was but a dream on the lips of the young praying for some measure of respite. But times change, and so do we. Loud guitars give way to slightly softer guitars, three part harmonies give way to four part harmonies, and Special forces take down America's Most Wanted Man. A time to every purpose under Heaven.
Ghost Town Council consists of Brian Knapp on guitar and vocals, Mason Aumanstal on guitar and vocals, Lisa Doro on Fiddle and vocals, Nick Brown on Bass and vocals, and Ben Wolf on the 3-piece analog-acoustic drum machine. Sonically and dynamically speaking, Ghost Town Council can rumble like a freight train, or amble by like tumbleweed at a four-way stop. The Ghost Town Special makes stops everywhere between Woody Guthrie to Wilco -- Pete Seeger to Old Crow Medicine Show -- Roy Orbison to The Felice Brothers and all broken towns on the main line run.
